Life – With a pinch of salt

Everything passes. It has to. That's the beauty and tragedy of it.

A letter to myself from an older me…

Oh, and the flowers will wilt
And “true” love will fade
And in the years to come
A lifetime of mistakes will be made

Still, when you look in the mirror
Don’t ever doubt your worth
From the ashes of your errors
Great lessons will come forth

These worries mean nothing
There are bigger battles to be fought.
Don’t surrender to convention
You are stronger than you thought.

When nothing goes your way
And you’re plunged to new lows
Grab life by the horns, do.
You can deal with its blows.

What you value most today
May lose all meaning someday.
But live every moment to the brim
and life will show you the way.

When you feel the weight of the world
when your truest conviction is gone
Remember – its never over until its over
It’s always the darkest before dawn.

I could tell you so much, my dear,
I could tell you all I know
But I’ll tell you just this one thing –
From all your experiences, you’ll grow.
